HERE is a timeline to make money with a blog. Listen to the podcast for full details on the implementation plan.
Week one: Start your blog. Focus on content and appearance.
Week two: Focus on content. Do not change blog layout so public becomes familiar with your “look.” Do not be disappointed by low numbers.
Week 3: Spend 25% of your time in forums, other blogs, Myspace publicizing your blog. Research products and affiliate programs you would like to offer on your site next week.
Week 4-6: Focus 50% of your time on blog content, 25% on publicity, and 25% affiliate and product management.
At some point: When you reach 500 hits a month (a quality well publicized blog can reach this in the second month) Begin offering ads on your blog. Redo blog layout to make blog pleasing to the eye and have maximum ad space (but not too much).
In the whole process do not spend less than half your time creating quality content.
